I'm back working at Stars in Concert Berlin for the whole of October, my first show was last night and the room was packed, we can fit around 800 in and I would say it was three quarters full. Anyway, it was the first time that Ive worked with a traditional German star, Helene Fischer played by Bridie Rack and she is massive over here, sold millions of records, the music it is quite umpah, it has that certain beat, I likened it to Brotherhood of Man (remember them) anyway, her songs are all in German so I have no clue what they're about! Haha After years of doing TJ in various shows, it's the first time that I've worked with...

For the past few weeks, I've been away on holiday to Orlando Florida, I don't know about you but I always feel like I need a rest when I come back cause I'm so tired and especially there as you spend most days walking round Universal or going to water parks. Always in the back of my mind is the next gig and I always put myself under so much pressure, for instance, I flew back from Orlando, a 9 hour flight on Thursday morning to Gatwick, the plane was late taking off and so I only had 35 mins to make a connecting flight to Dublin, Jesus, I've never been so knackered rushing to make it, the boards saying...

So this weekend I'm back in Berlin working for Stars in Concert in a Gala for a company who have just finished a conference event.  I was using this gala to audition my new Tom Jones look as TJ is over at the end of the month in Berlin and his posters are all over the city with obviously his new look !  Everyone knows about German efficiency, especially with the great cars they produce like BMW and Porche but I can tell you that it runs through the whole of it's industries including our show tonight at the Estrel hotel. Every thing is planned to the final detail, running orders must be to the minute and they will not accept...

I love it when I get feedback like this from clients, it just means I'm doing something right!     ...

It's not often that I mention venues but on this occasion I feel I must. The hardest thing to do these days is sell a ticket? I was lucky enough to be booked at a great little venue called the windmill in Buckley North Wales last night, the first time they booked me the gig was cancelled because they couldn't sell it, so I was apprehensive when the manager Rebecca asked me to do it again.  The Windmill, is a cafe bar with a function room above,  yet during the day it doubles as a day centre for the elderly, they like everyone else are struggling to fill their venue, yet last night they sold it out. They charged £15...

So the nice weather is coming and the summer holidays are almost upon us! Unless I'm working abroad, maybe on a cruise or for the likes of Thomson holidays in there gold resorts, or on the Island Escape, then work at home becomes very hard to come by! I think it's a summer thing, people go on holiday with their families and so venues are reluctant to book a show in case they can't sell them,  and the last thing I need is a cancellation a few days before the gig as I'll have no chance of filling it again! It's happened so many times in the past, the week of the gig I get a call from an agent...

So another week done, last show at 5 PM on Sunday then it's 2 days off. My friend Mike Powell is over from Liverpool ( Buble trib ) for a few days so we are gonna do the sight seeing thing today! Teufelsburg and Charlottenburg palace is the order of the day, I've not been to these places before so it will be interesting for me as well, tomorrow will be a walking tour of the city, I've done this many times and it's a great way of finding your way round as well as learning about the city! ...

I'm now into my 3rd week in Berlin, the show tends to run itself, so long as we all know what we are doing in the finale it's being on overdrive. The audiences have been good, on a Wednesday and Thursday we tend to get a lot of school groups, 15 years upwards, coach loads of them, I'm sure most if the kids haven't heard of Tom Jones, Marylin Monroe, Tina Turner, the Blues Bros or Joe Cocker, maybe Robbie Williams has a chance, the funny thing is, they all come over to me at the end when we are signing photos for them and want selfies and say how good we are, I suppose music is universal, if it's...

I fly to Berlin tomorrow till April 27th for my first of 3 runs this year at Stars in Concert Berlin at the Estrel hotel. It's been 12 months since I last worked there and I'm looking forward to going back.  Luckily I will be working with a few of my friends in the show, Suzie Kennedy as Marylin Monroe, Matt Byrne as Robbie Williams, Chris and Geoff Dahl as the Blues Brothers, so it will be a great atmosphere back stage, there's also a Cher and Elvis trib in the line up.  It's weird going for a month though and living in a hotel, it's like you leave all the rat race behind, you don't get your mail or...

Is it really that easy to be a Tom Jones tribute? In the past 6 months, I know of 2 singers and 1 comedian who have turned themselves in to a TJ trib! Really? It's getting beyond a joke now, I thought it was bad enough with every swing singer now calling themselves Michael Buble, I mean there has to be more than just singing the songs in the same style and as for the TJ tribs, just cause you can go and buy silver hair spray and grow a goatee surely doesn't amount to you becoming him, or does it? Everyone remembers Tom for his great energy and big songs, but now it's like Tom Jones meets the Saga crowd,...
