09 Sep It’s gonna be a slow start
So…. its been a while! Here in Ireland there’s been no live music since March 2020, it feels like an absolute age and I’ve gotta be honest, I shut down musically as well as the country did, I mean, I never sang a note…anywhere. so when I got the opportunity to do a festival in Kildare with the band, I jumped at the chance, I got my old pa out and started rehearsing again, my god, it was bad I mean, I couldn’t remember the words let alone sounding like TJ and then I was told that we would be doing 2 X 90 minute sets, one a matinee session the other an evening session! I shit myself, my only concern being would my voice hold up, the shock of it might kill me. Me and the band got together for the first time in almost 2 years and did a very quick top and tail rehearsal, that means we didn’t do full songs but just played the opening and closing bars to make sure we all knew what we were doing…anyway, the gig was boss and what a great way to start back again! I do think it’s gonna be a slow process though as many venues will be waiting for the 100% capacity to kick in after all of the restrictions are lifted at the end of October, so until then, I’m gonna grab what I can.
