Is it really that easy to be a Tom Jones tribute? In the past 6 months, I know of 2 singers and 1 comedian who have turned themselves in to a TJ trib! Really? It’s getting beyond a joke now, I thought it was bad enough with every swing singer now calling themselves Michael Buble, I mean there has to be more than just singing the songs in the same style and as for the TJ tribs, just cause you can go and buy silver hair spray and grow a goatee surely doesn’t amount to you becoming him, or does it? 

Everyone remembers Tom for his great energy and big songs, but now it’s like Tom Jones meets the Saga crowd, so old, no energy, no movement, no big songs! I always think you see the standard of a TJ trib by the Videos they put up on YouTube, if it’s green grass of home, kiss, leave your hat on, sex bomb, I class them as no effort songs with no high notes and so you can be sure they must struggle with the big numbers, a lot dpi under the top notes which is so lame. 

I pride myself on the basis that I sing every song in the written key, like he did in his 20’s to 40’s and still nail the top end, go on my YouTube and see for yourself, and in the Stars In Concert show, every song has to be sung in the written key so there’s no hiding place.
